Mariam Al-Bahrani

I am a UKCP-accredited psychotherapist with experience working in both the NHS and private practice. I see clients face-to-face in West London and work online with clients across the UK and internationally.

My training integrates person-centred, transactional analysis and gestalt therapy. I work collaboratively with clients to help them improve the quality of their lives. My work is informed by a culturally aware and faith-sensitive approach, with an awareness of the impact of early childhood experiences and trauma. 

I support adults aged 18 and over with a range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, identity and self-esteem issues, relationship difficulties, life transitions and bereavement. I also support clients in improving relationships, setting healthier boundaries, and developing a better understanding of themselves and what they need from their lives.

I am registered with the Black, African and Asian Therapy Network (BAATN) and the Muslim Counsellor and Psychotherapist Network (MCPAN). I abide by the UKCP (2019) Code of Ethics and am listed on the UKCP Register. I work under regular clinical supervision and engage in ongoing professional development to ensure safe and ethical practice.

I understand that starting therapy can feel daunting, which is why I offer a free consultation of up to 20 minutes. I aim to provide a non-judgemental, confidential and compassionate space, working collaboratively and at a pace that feels right for you. I am happy to answer any questions you may have about how I work.
